Among the main reasons for locating Ladybird at its present site was the extensive, wooded, safe and secure garden, where all sorts of educational and play activities could take place in the open air.
The minimum number of sessions per week is three mornings. Over the age of three years, children should attend the full five mornings to obtain maximum benefit from the Montessori curriculum.
All three and four-year-olds may be eligible for grants towards nursery education from the Government of up to £2,300 per year. Ladybird Montessori School is registered to accept these grants.
To enrol your child, please submit the registration form and then we will add your child’s name to our waiting list for the appropriate term. If we are able to offer you a place, you will receive a confirmatory letter stating the child’s date of entry.
The school must be advised as soon as possible when a child is absent through ill-health. This is particularly important with common childhood illnesses. A child must not return to school until the infectious period is over.
Safety checks are made every day before the children arrive. Staff make sure the children are continuously supervised. Hygiene is part of the childrens’ training and is carefully monitored. Any accidents are recorded and parents are informed. At least one of the staff on duty has First Aid Training.
We are committed to an equal-opportunities’ programme and child protection, in line with guidance laid down by OFSTED.
The school is open from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm, Monday to Friday, with a mid morning break. Holiday periods are in line with other private schools in the area.
All children are required to wear the Ladybird sweatshirt or T-shirt and other comfortable clothing for ease of management by both staff and child.
We escort the children regularly to farms, theatres and nature walks as comprehensive educational excursions.
Parents are required to sign a consent form before their child can participate in excursions.
Invitations are extended to fire and police crews to visit us and explain their specialist activities and equipment.
Please telephone to arrange an appointment to view the school.
